tips to save energy

Saving energy is the passport to having a more eco-friendly and sustainable world in harmony with nature, which in turn, translates into a better way of living for human beings.

Without a doubt, we all have the capacity to save energy in our homes if we practice efficient ways to lessen energy consumption and the emission of polluting gases into the atmosphere.

Once we become aware of our impact on the environment and of our responsibility towards it, then we can start practicing responsible ways of energy saving.

Follow these tips to implement the best ways of energy saving at home

  • Using natural light is an important, simple, and valuable practice. To achieve a greater amount of natural light, it is recommendable to install glass doors and windows, use light tone paints, keep windows blinds and curtains open, etc.

  • Ironing loads of clothes at once allows you to consume electrical energy efficiently, since this practice avoids heating the iron several times, resulting in the saving of large amounts of energy.

  • Turn off any lights you don’t need to have on. If the spaces are clear and the furniture is well distributed, fewer lights will need to be turned on.

  • Keep electronic devices turned off when not in use.

  • Install saving white light bulbs. They save up to 60% electricity.

  • Make sure that the electrical appliances are in good condition so that there are no excesses in the consumption of electrical energy, and unplug them if they are not in use.

  • Charge your cell phone with awareness, preferably during the day in order to use only the necessary energy. When they are charged at night, they are usually left longer than the necessary time.

  • Make good use of the refrigerator by not opening it so many times and avoiding putting hot things inside of it.

  • Use the air conditioner at the correct voltage. Turn it off regularly and take advantage of the natural air, that way you save energy. Also, give proper use to heating.

  • Turn off the router when you are not at home and at night. When it is off, it stops consuming energy.

  • Install solar panels that provide you with solar energy. It will reduce the consumption of electrical energy.
